Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts to Ksatria Journal of Statistics (KJS). Submitted manuscripts should fall within the journal's Focus & Scope and make a meaningful theoretical, methodological, computational, or applied contribution to statistical science.

All submissions are initially evaluated by the editorial team to determine their suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scope, minimum academic standards, formatting requirements, or publication ethics may be rejected during the initial editorial screening. Manuscripts considered suitable will proceed to peer review before a final editorial decision is made.

General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to KJS must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal. All listed authors must have made an appropriate contribution to the work and must agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, photographs, datasets, or other third-party content. Where applicable, research involving human participants, animals, confidential data, or other ethically sensitive materials must have received appropriate ethical approval.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared clearly and consistently using the KJS manuscript template when provided. The manuscript should be written in clear academic English and should generally contain:

  1. Title
  2. Author information and affiliations
  3. Abstract
  4. Keywords
  5. Introduction
  6. Methods
  7. Results and Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. Acknowledgements and Funding Information, where applicable
  10. Conflict of Interest Statement
  11. References

The title should be concise and informative. The abstract should provide a clear summary of the background, objective, methods, principal results, and conclusions. Keywords should accurately represent the subject of the manuscript.

Statistical and Mathematical Content

Mathematical notation, equations, symbols, statistical models, and parameters should be presented consistently throughout the manuscript. All variables and notation should be defined when first introduced.

Authors should provide sufficient methodological detail to enable readers and reviewers to understand how the statistical analysis was conducted.

For simulation or computational studies, authors should clearly describe the experimental settings, parameter configurations, evaluation criteria, and computational procedures.

For empirical studies, the data source, variables, analytical procedures, and relevant statistical assumptions should be adequately explained.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and cited in the main text. Each table and figure should have a clear and informative caption. Figures must be of sufficient quality for online publication.

References and Citations

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all citations are accurate and that every work cited in the manuscript appears in the reference list.

References should primarily consist of relevant and reliable scholarly sources. Authors are encouraged to include recent literature where appropriate while acknowledging important foundational studies.

Citation and reference formatting should follow the style specified in the KJS manuscript template.

Originality and Plagiarism

All manuscripts must represent original scholarly work. Submissions may be screened using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate methods.

Similarity reports are evaluated contextually. Editorial decisions are not based solely on a numerical similarity percentage but also on the nature and location of the identified similarities.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and appropriate citation of all submitted content.

Substantial use of generative AI in preparing, editing, analysing, or presenting a manuscript should be transparently disclosed where appropriate.

Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the KJS online submission system. Authors should complete all required metadata accurately, including the title, abstract, keywords, author names, affiliations, and corresponding author information.

Before completing a submission, authors should ensure that all requirements listed in the Submission Preparation Checklist have been satisfied.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team. Manuscripts that satisfy the initial requirements may be assigned to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to comments from reviewers and editors.

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript is made by the editorial team based on scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal, peer-review reports, and compliance with KJS publication policies.

Publication Ethics

Authors are expected to comply with KJS policies regarding authorship, originality, conflicts of interest, plagiarism, research integrity, data integrity, corrections, and other ethical aspects of scholarly publishing. Further information is available on the Policies page.
