Publication Ethics

Ksatria Journal of Statistics (KJS) is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to uphold the principles of responsible research and publication.

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by another journal. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, and other forms of research misconduct are not acceptable.

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly and independently based on their academic merit and relevance to the scope of the journal. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, personal beliefs, or other unrelated characteristics.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential assessments. Any potential conflict of interest should be disclosed to the editorial team.

Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to KJS undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's focus and scope, academic quality, originality, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded for peer review by qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the submitted work. Reviewers evaluate the scientific quality, methodological soundness, originality, clarity, and contribution of the manuscript.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editorial assessment, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted with revisions, returned for further revision, or rejected. The final decision regarding publication rests with the editorial team.

Plagiarism Policy

KJS requires all submitted manuscripts to contain original work and proper acknowledgement of all sources. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate methods before publication.

If plagiarism, excessive textual overlap, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other forms of academic misconduct are identified, the editorial team may reject the manuscript or take appropriate corrective action for an article that has already been published.

Similarity reports are evaluated contextually. Editorial decisions are not based solely on a numerical similarity percentage but also consider the nature and location of the identified similarities.

Open Access Policy

KJS supports the dissemination of scholarly knowledge and aims to make published research accessible to readers. Access, copyright, and licensing information applicable to published articles will be provided by the journal and/or displayed on the relevant article pages.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not violate the copyright or intellectual property rights of others. Materials reproduced from other sources must be properly cited and, where required, accompanied by appropriate permission.

Copyright and licensing provisions applicable to articles published in KJS are governed by the journal's current copyright notice and publication license. Authors are encouraged to review the applicable terms before submitting their manuscripts.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, review process, or editorial decision.

Where a conflict of interest exists, the journal may assign another editor or reviewer to ensure an independent and impartial evaluation.

Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Notices

KJS is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When significant errors or concerns are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, clarification, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

Retraction may be considered in cases involving unreliable findings, serious research misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other substantial violations of publication ethics.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the submitted work.

All listed authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, or accountability of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to KJS. If generative AI tools have been used substantially in preparing, editing, analysing, or presenting the manuscript, such use should be transparently disclosed where appropriate. AI-generated content must be carefully verified for accuracy, originality, confidentiality, and proper citation.

Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts. Data must not be fabricated, falsified, manipulated inappropriately, or selectively reported in a manner that could mislead readers.

Where appropriate and permitted by ethical, legal, and confidentiality considerations, authors are encouraged to retain and make available data or supporting materials necessary to verify the findings of their research.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors may submit a reasoned appeal regarding an editorial decision when they believe that a significant error has occurred during the evaluation process. Appeals should clearly explain the basis of the concern and provide relevant supporting information.

Complaints concerning editorial conduct, peer review, publication ethics, or published material will be reviewed objectively by the journal management and handled according to the nature of the issue.

Archiving and Digital Preservation

KJS is committed to maintaining the long-term availability and integrity of its published scholarly content. The journal uses its electronic publishing platform and appropriate preservation practices to support continued access to published articles and related metadata.

Privacy Statement

Names, email addresses, and other personal information entered into the journal system will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of the journal and will not be made available for unrelated purposes without appropriate authorization.
